I was privileged to grow up in a strong LDS family. I learned from my parents and siblings about the gospel and I believed it. For a time I leaned on the testimonies of my parents, but before too long I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to our God and King to receive a confirmation of its truth. He answered my prayers and continues to do so. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I believe it is true. I have been cleansed and empowered through the infinite Atonement of our Savior and Redeemer. I have been blessed and loved by our Father in Heaven. I have been guided by the Holy Ghost, felt peace from the scriptures, and received witnesses of this truth that I cannot and will not deny. In St John 8:32 it reads, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” The gospel of Jesus Christ has done just that for me. It has changed me, set me free, and been the constant anchor in my life. I am a Mormon because I believe this truth taught by Neal A. Maxwell that changed my life, “If, in the end, if you have not chosen Jesus Christ, it will not matter what you have chosen.” He is not a choice, He is the only choice. The church is true. I promise.

What is faith without action? It is nothing, and so I must live my faith or lose it. For me, a simple phrase by Thomas S. Monson comes to mind everyday that guides my choices. It states, “Remember who you are and what God expects you to become.” This reminds me that I am a daughter of God our Eternal Father and that He has a divine plan for me. Knowing who I am guides every choice I make and allows me to keep an Eternal perspective during difficult times. I know that I am His and that through His Son I can return to Him and reach the potential He sees within me. I try to live my life in a pattern after our Savior and Redeemer. I believe that if He were here He would spend his time in the service of God’s children, and so I try to do the same.¬†
